Heating repair

No heat on the first cold night of the year.

It sat idle for nine months and now you need it. Gas furnaces, electric heat, and heat pumps — priced from the same set book, approved before we start.

Sound familiar?

What usually goes wrong here.

North Texas furnaces fail from sitting, not from working. That is why almost everything on this list is an ignition part.

It blows, but cold

The blower runs and nothing is warm. Usually the burners never lit, or a safety cut them off seconds later.

It lights, then quits

Fires up, runs thirty seconds, shuts down, tries again. Classic dirty flame sensor — a quick clean if that is all it is.

Clicking, no ignition

The igniter is cracked or the gas valve is not opening. We carry both.

A smell the first cold night

Dust burning off is normal for ten minutes. Anything sharp, sour, or lingering is not — call us.

It short cycles

Running in short bursts and never satisfying the thermostat. Often a plugged pressure switch hose or an overheating limit.

Heat pump running constantly

In a cold snap that can be normal. If auxiliary heat is on all day when it is 45 out, something is wrong.

The safety part

We check the heat exchanger. Every time.

A cracked heat exchanger can put carbon monoxide into the air you are breathing. On any no-heat call we inspect it, and on any replacement we do a combustion analysis on the system coming out.

If we find a crack, we shut the system down, document it, and notify Atmos. That is not an upsell — it is the only responsible thing to do, and we would rather lose the sale than leave it running.

Smell gas right now? Leave the house first. Then call 911 and Atmos Energy at 866-322-8667. Do not flip switches and do not use the phone inside. Call us once you are safe.

What it costs

Flat rate, set in a book, and the same in December as it is in July. Call and describe it and we will give you the number.

Cold house? Let us get it handled.

Call or text and describe what it is doing. Evenings and weekends are answered — $95 once on the visit, waived on your first call each year with Keystone.
