Highland Village grew from about 7,000 people in 1990 to over 12,000 by 2000, and it has barely changed since. That means most homes in neighborhoods like Highland Shores, Castlewood, Chapel Hill and Briarhill Estates were built in a narrow window, and many are on their second system at least.
Bigger, two-story homes from that era often came with one system trying to cover both floors, and the upstairs bedrooms are where you feel it.
